New Rapid Infiltration Basin (RIB) Disposal System Project
FDEP Wastewater Permit
The new Florida Department of Environmental Protection Wastewater Permit for the new Arbennie Pritchett WRF and RIBs was issued on June 12, 2007 and includes the following general requirements:
- The new Arbennie Pritchett WRF will have a treatment capacity of 10 mgd and will be designed in accordance with Chapter 62-610.510 F.A.C.
- The WRF shall meet the secondary treatment requirements of Chapter 62-600.420 F.A.C., including effluent concentration limits for total suspended solids (TSS) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) of 20 milligrams per liter (mg/L) and basic disinfection of 200 colonies per 100 milliliters (200/100 mL). Additionally, the nitrate (NO3) concentration in the applied reclaimed water shall not exceed 8 mg/L (as nitrogen) and the nitrate concentration as measured in any hydraulically down-gradient monitoring well located at the edge of the zone of discharge will not exceed 10 mg/L or background levels in the receiving ground water, whichever is less stringent.
- The new Arbennie Pritchett WRF will have the capability to comply with the discharge requirements for the existing Garniers Effluent Spray Field and the new RIBs.
