New Rapid Infiltration Basin (RIB) Disposal System Project

Schedule/Status

The rapid infiltration basins (RIBs) to serve as the reclaimed water disposal system for the Arbennie Pritchett WRF are complete. Construction of the RIBs was accomplished by the Okaloosa County Water and Sewer (OCWS) Construction Crew. Construction started in June 2007 and was recently completed on schedule in July 2008.

The project came in on schedule and on budget thanks to the diligence of the OCWS Crew. The project costs were right at $5 million. The initial estimate for the project was $10 million had the project been put out for contractor bids. In essence thanks to the OCWS RIBs Project Team, OCWS Rate Payers saved approximately $5 million.
