Garniers Re-Pumping Station Project

Overview

When construction of the new Arbennie Pritchett WRF is completed, wastewater received at the Garniers WWTP will be repumped to the new WRF using the Garniers Re-Pumping Station. This project includes the construction of a new closed-system re-pumping station, as well as piping modifications at the Garniers WWTP. The new pump station will not require a wet well since it is provided to re-pump the existing wastewater that is currently pumped to the Garniers WWTP. The two existing 20-inch diameter effluent pipelines that convey treated effluent from the Garniers WWTP to the Garniers Effluent Sprayfield will be converted to raw wastewater pipelines. These pipelines will convey raw wastewater from the new re-pumping station to the new Arbennie Pritchett WRF.

The new Re-Pumping Station will be enclosed in a building for security and to more easily blend into the community. Since a wet well is not required, the potential for obnoxious odors will be minimal. An carbon-based odor control system will be provided to treat any small amount of off-gasing that may occur at the pump station. A stand-by diesel generator will be provided to power the pump station during emergency conditions. The new generator will be housed in a sound-attenuating enclosure to minimize noise during operation of the generator. The new pump station will be generally located on the west side of the existing WWTP site.

HDR Engineering, Inc is the design engineer for this project which will be constructed using a traditional design-bid-build delivery process. TCG is the Program Manager and will oversee the design and construction of the project.
